Is JotShot a Skitch replacement?

That’s the idea. Skitch made screenshot annotation effortless and then quietly went away. JotShot brings the same flow — capture, arrow, share — back to modern macOS, written from scratch in Swift.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel.

Why does it ask for Screen Recording permission?

macOS requires it for any app that captures the screen. JotShot only captures when you press the shortcut or choose a capture command — never in the background, and nothing is sent anywhere.

Can I change the capture shortcut?

Yes. ⌘⌃4 is the default; pick anything you like in Settings.

Which file formats are supported?

Open or paste PNG, JPEG, TIFF, HEIC and WebP images. Export as PNG, JPEG or PDF, or just copy the result to the clipboard.

Is there really no subscription?
